Disney Magic Kingdoms – Defeating and Welcoming Syndrome

Wow.  What a battle.  In what was one of the most intensely animated fights in the game, the Omnidroid has finally been defeated.  If you are still in the midst of welcoming Mr. Incredible, make sure to head HERE to my earlier post about him and everything leading up to the fight.

Keep in mind, while I think this goes without saying, there are some big spoilers in this post.

NOTE:  I used some gems to speed up the process in order to report here.  Even without gems, you should easily be able to accomplish all of this before the end of the event.

Last time on Magic Kingdoms!

The battle is quite intense and while we talked about this last time around, I just want to say that the animations here are fantastic.  Everything feels super epic which is important in a game like this.  We’ve been working towards this for weeks.  We need payoff.  The devs could have simply had the characters go inside the bot to fight it, but no.  They’ve painstakingly put together a really cool collection of animations to make this battle seem ‘worth it.’

Not only the battle is fun to watch, but also seeing the characters jump on the bot when the start a quest, and off the bot once they’re done.

Below are some stills of this awesome battle.

After Defeating the Omnidroid

As soon as you defeat the Omnidroid, several things happen.

img_7670

Bots

First off, you will get a new quest to fight Bots!  YAY BOTS!  This one is to fight 100 Claw Bots.  10 will respawn every 6 minutes.  Not too bad.

img_7680

This is followed by another run of Claw Bots, 150 of them to be precise.  These respawn every 30 minutes and you can click 15 of them at a time.

img_7688

Place the Omnidroid City!

While the game doesn’t specifically tell you to do it, you can now place the Omnidroid City in your Kingdom.

img_7683

The City will set you back 25,000 Incredicoins but has a chance of dropping one of Syndrome’s epic token, so that’s definitely a plus.  The City will also take 8 hours to build before it starts its 4 hour timer of dropping 10 xp, 110 Incredicoins and, If you’re lucky, Syndrome’s hat.

img_7685

The City itself is ginormous so be prepared to say goodbye to a hefty amount of land.

Welcome Syndrome

Okay, let’s start with what Syndrome requires to be welcomed because it is a whole ton of stuff and it looks like we finally have a place to dump all those Incredicoins we’ve been saving up.

All in all you’ll need:

100 Incredible Base Tokens
20 Wristbands
20 Syndrome hats
45,000 Incredicoins

img_7676

img_7677

img_7678

img_7679

Most of the arm device quests will last you 2 hours, but they come hand in hand with Mr. Incredibles flyers to you can also use this time to level him up, which is important since you will need him at level 3 to help collect armbands as well.  The hats are going to take a bit longer, with all quests taking 4 hours, which the exception of Frozone, who only needs a 2 hour quest to obtain them.

Of course, keep in mind that BOTH of these are epic so the drop rate will be considerably lower than items for any of the other characters.

img_7687

Once you go through all of this, however, keep in mind that Syndrome only takes an hour to welcome so he’ll be yours in no time.

After Welcoming Syndrome

img_7689

One of the first quests you’ll be asked to do once Syndrome joins the Kingdom is to rebuild the Omnidroid.  If you already did, well, congratulations!  Life just got a little easier.  If not, you’ll be told to do so now.

img_7691

You’ll also be rewarded if you managed to pick up Frozone as well.

You’ll also get several new quests which involve interesting things like Mrs. going to buy groceries or Syndrome trying his hand at the obstacle course.

img_7690

It looks like this motley crew is going to be doing some fun sidequests for the side being.  Keep in mind that any character you welcome, buildings you place or decorations you purchase are yours to keep after the event.  I think that 10 days should be plenty of time to do all of this if you keep at it.  If anything else fun should pop up throughout the week, I’ll make sure to post it on the blog.

Until then, happy playing!

  1. You know I actually enjoyed reading you’re articles until today. You’re so in a rush to beat everyone and show off the game that you just gemmed through everything and it doesn’t seem like fun. I will no longer reader this blog.

    • Sorry again to hear you feel this way. Hope you swing by and say hello again some day in the future.

      • Please don’t apologize to this dick bag. You have every right to spend whatever you want on the game and the community appreciates the effort you put into these walkthroughs.

    • I disagree. My take is that he is gemming it so that he can give us advanced notice of what we can expect and what we need to prepare for. For example, I’m grateful that I now know exactly how mush incredi-cash I’m going to need so I don’t waste time collecting too much of it. I, for one, appreciate this post and the efforts required to gain that knowledge for our benefit.

  2. It seems to me that instead of trying to enjoy this game and the experience you simply wish to Gem through and be the first to beat it. I cannot find entertainment or necessity in reading or supporting this blog anymore but wish you the best of luck. I want to journey through this world and not just spam through it.

    • Thank you so much much for having read and supported my blog up to this point. I appreciate your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear you feel that way. 😦

  3. Ok, personally I love your blogs. They immediately let you know on what’s showing up. Continue and ignore the haters! 🙂

  4. I love your blogs! They are so helpful! It’s good to know how much coins/potions you will need and who you need for tasks. Please don’t listen to the haters.. You’re awesome 🙂

  5. He is doing this for all of our benefit to see what we are in for next in the game. I don’t think he is doing it to “beat everyone” and finish first. I enjoy reading these and it hurts to read your negative comments and I can’t image how you made him feel. He takes a lot of time writing these. Keep up the great work Jaysen 😀

    • I agree, he is doing it to give information, not that he wants to “beat” everyone. Thank you Jaysen!

  6. Thank you so much, this helps me plan out, and strategize way more than I could have otherwise. Keep it coming, and thanks for spending the time, money, and gems to help the rest of us strategize and manage our time.

  7. just remember Jaysen…haters gonna hate. Thanks for spending your own personal money to help us all know what to expect as we play through this event.

  8. Slight Error that I wanted to point out to you in your article. on the Tap on 150 Claw bots. I hit number 60.150 and I had a 60m respawn time, vs the 30m. Starts off that way, but def doesnt finish off that way ;_;

  9. How many gems does it take to welcome Syndrome with pout collecting the stuff needed to unlock him?

    • Well ive been trying to unlock him for 2 days and only have 25% of the items. The drop rate is horrendous, at least for me. I spent all day yesterday every 2 hours sending the characters that can get the armband for example, about 24 chances and i only got 3.

  10. I’ve loved your blog since way back, Jaysen! I appreciate you using gems in order to report on the game earlier, you’ve helped me quite a bit! I’ll continue reading your blog faithfully. 🙂

  11. Thank you. Really helpful.

Just a thought re the debate earlier. I appreciate being able to read your posts and find them helpful.

You give a clear title and spoiler alert. I’m about 2 tasks awat from the battle and had to decide when I wanted to read your post. Early cause I couldn’t wait or after the battle.

I chose early but I could have chosen to wait. It is up to the reader when they read each post.

    Keep up the good work.

  12. I’m a bit behind (pesky job eating up 8 hours of my day!!) so I just welcomed Mr. Incredible. Am I going to have to do all of the quests and collect the tokens to welcome Syndrome before the event is over? I think unless I can play non-stop this weekend, I’ll be pressed for time just to defeat Syndrome before the event is over.

Also I second everyone’s support for you Jaysen! Since I’m a little bit behind, your walk-throughs are great in letting me plan how to progress in the game. Thanks for these great posts!

    • I think you can still do it. Are you on Twitter or do you follow my stuff on Facebook? Either way, message me. I think I can help you out possibly.

      • my Twitter is @peanutsfan_1
I don’t go on there much though. I am stressing about it because the characters aren’t dropping anything. I can’t spend any money on stuff to speed up the tasks either.

  13. I have a question…I am at the point where I am trying to collect everything I need to “welcome Syndrome “. My question is..with only 6-days left in the event…will I lose Syndrome if I haven’t collected all his stuff and welcomed him? I fear I won’t have everything as nothing is dropping for me 😟

      • Sorry I replied in the wron message. Not mine…but the poster above mine. I put my Twitter handle in that reply.

  14. A handful of us on the DIS boards are grateful for your guidance with this event! Thanks so much for sharing!

  15. Thanks so much for all of your information. I would not have known how many Incredicoins I would need without your help. I’m doing the first battle with all 5 Incredibles now and should be finished with the battle by later Saturday. I have 39,000 Incredicoins and, after buying the City, I don’t know if I’ll be able to have enough coins by the deadline for Syndrome. If need be, how many gems might I need to get Syndrome?

  16. When the event is over, do you think our leftover incredible coins will be converted to the regular game currency? If yes, do you think it will be an exact conversion because it seems like incredible coins go farther than the potion currency.

    Love your posts!

    • Thank you! If they convert them I would say it would be exact because, well, it’s just easier that way lol

  17. I massively don’t see how it’s going to be possible to welcome Syndrome without spending (and buying) gems. I defeated him at 9am this morning, and immediately started the job of collecting his tokens. I had every available character performing his token-earning tasks all day long (including starting the Omnidroid city as soon as i defeated Syndrome), keeping a constant eye on the timers. As of 11:30pm, I have all 100 Incredi-tokens, but only 8 of the wristbands and 0 of the hats. There’s no way this is going to be possible in the next 4 days. 😦

    • I really think you’ll be surprised. It might be close but don’t give up and if you have to spend gems do it at the last minute so you spend as few as possible.

      • Well, you were correct, sir. Almost exactly three days later, I finally welcomed him. Cripes that took forever. Now I have a day and 11 hours left to try to upgrade him and complete as many of his quests as possible. I am now left wondering – along with most everyone else, I assume – how the upgrade process (and even the quests, perhaps) will change for any Incredibles characters once the event ends.

  18. Hi just wanted to leave a note to say thank you and that most people appreciate your efforts rather than thinking like joey j.
I hope his comments didn’t make you feel bad. I love your posts they have been so helpful:)

  19. Anyone have an estimate on time to get syndromes stuff? I’m currently at 12/25 on the omnidrioid fight and I hope I have enough time!

    • In one day (24 hour period)I have gotten 11 wristbands and 8 hats and that is with every character I can working on his things. They drop really, really scarcely. I am hoping 4 days is enough to get the rest with work in the way.

  20. If you build the omnidroid city does that mean you then have the one you build that will give you stuff and the one in the middle of the park that they all had to fight?

  21. Has anyone (not gemming) welcomed Syndrome yet? I think it is going to be close. I need 10 more armbands and 10 more hats. I have everyone working as much as I can. I think that I can get him into gem range. I have gotten so many gems from collecting the coin challenges each week.

    • Not yet. Without gemming it’s going to be “Incredibles” tough. Depending on the number of characters in your park which can help with Incredicoins, the 45k of them is possible down to 2days left, the increditokens (the gold ones with black typeface) are easy to obtain 100. Hats and Armbands are the toughest at Epic, and I’ll let you know IF I can accomplish without gems ( I don’t plan on getting any). I get a little extra time being on Windows Phone, but I hope for us Free2Play guys the rates start dropping better.

      • I was able to welcome him today without Gem’ing.

Those last two hats just wouldn’t randomize quick enough for me, but finally!

    • I just managed to welcome him before I fell asleep last night. Overall it took about 3 full days of all possible characters (and the Omnidroid city) doing their quests over and over, keeping a near-constant eye on the timers to restart them as soon as they’d finished. I didn’t spend any gems.

  22. Sorry for the backlash you got early on from the haters, but you handled them with grace and style. I admire that, and you have a lot of grateful, loyal followers. Me included.

Do you happen to have any insight on leveling up Incredible characters after the event? I think I can get Syndrome before its all over, but I highly doubt I’ll be able to get him to Level 10, especially considering I still need to level up Frozone a bit and Mr Incredible is sitting at Level 5 right now. Thanks!

  23. Will we be able to level up Syndrome even after the event is over? I know we have to welcome him to keep him but I want to be able to level him up to 10 and don’t know if it will happen as I probably won’t welcome him until today or tomorrow??

    • I am pretty sure we can still level all of our Incredibles characters post event as long as they are welcomed.

  24. I am only now (3 days left to the event) starting to attack the Omnidroid. If I do not want to spend gems, should I just give up on eventually welcoming Syndrome and spend the 25k Incredicoins I have to rebuild the Omnidroid. I will likely have to choose, so, in the long run, I guess it is more fun to own the Omnidroid than Syndrome?

    • Up to you really. I will say that Syndrome has VERY few quests and so far only 1 animation that is sort of cute.

  25. I almost unlocked syndrome will i still have the quests after the event is over cuz im stressing out about getting him i have 63 incredible tokens 18 wristbands 9 hats and 30,000 incredicoins so i know i can do it but barely so will i still have a chance to do the quests

  26. I’m feeling like the timeline is VERY tight to welcome Syndrome. I’ve been completely on top of this event and moved everything forward as quickly as possible, but even with 3 days left I’m not sure I can get this done. I’ve been sending all four (actually five, but only four possible rewards) characters on the two hour arm band tasks back to back to back for 2.5 days now, and I’m only at 8 arm bands. The last five attempts (20 possible drops!) have yielded zero arm bands. It’s getting frustrating. 😦 I’ve been very patient in other aspects of this game but with the time ticking and the drop rate being extremely low, the pressure is mounting. Gah!

  27. So pleased to have found this site. It’s beautifully written & informative. It’s also allowed me to better plan my time to welcome all the characters to the game. Regarding Syndrome, I too have all characters on the task, including Frozone & the drop rate is abysmal. I started my welcome with 6 days to go. I now have 3 days to still try to obtain 9 of each item. Frozone, has only dropped 2 hats and I am sending him out every two hours non stop. It does make me question the real benefit of having spent the diamonds to have him in my game. Luckily I got him because I love his character in the film or I would feel even more deflated than I already do with this part of the event. On day 1 of my quest to welcome Syndrome I gained one wristband in 24 hours (playing non stop). So we are all in the same boat. You’re not alone & your game is working as it should. It’s been set up that way so we have to grind it out. I still hope to get him and he’d better be worth all my effort…. or else😂X

    • I’m only 3 hats away from getting Syndrome. I don’t know if this will help, but is everyone also using all the characters like Mickey and Mike as well as the Incredibles to get the drops? I’ve been averaging 1-2 drops each time (although I don’t think I have gotten any from the Omnidroid City). It has been a slog though and I hope that the next special event is somewhat less frustrating for all.

      • Yep, I have been using all possible characters, buildings to collect items. Mickey hasn’t yielded any results so far, and I think the Omnidroid city has been more successful for me than anything. Mike Wazowski has been good too. I know it’s random, but it’s interesting to hear the different results people get doing the same tasks. I’ll just keep slogging along! I actually didn’t find this event frustrating at all until I got to Syndrome. I feel like they should have tacked some additional time on at the end instead of allowing the same time period for Mr. Incredible, the battle, and welcoming Syndrome.

  28. This is going to be a close call. I started collecting items for Syndrome the better part of 2 days ago. I started with his hats bc that takes the longest, so anyone that could get it, I have them on it. I built omnidroid city as soon as I could also.
I can now say I have 19/20 hats, and 13/20 wristbands. I’m about halfway through coins, but those are short time frames. Right now it’s all hands on deck. I have gemmed to get a character through their task, but I don’t plan on using gems until the last minute to welcome him. Good luck to everyone still trying to welcome him, it’s going to be close.

  29. Hi thanks for this, it’s helpful! I have a question: I start to collect things for Syndrome today, the event will finish in 2 days. If i haven’t al the items before the ending will I lost the opportunity to have Syndrome forever? If so, I will have to buy gems to help… What do you think?

    • It may be possible. I took 2.5 days to get enough to item to spawn him. Keep at it because each item that you get makes less gems you will need. After I got all the tokens and coins I was going for the 2 hr items, but ended up finishing the 2 and 4 hr items at the same time.

  30. Finally got Syndrome! At Level 1, he takes 60 seconds to go through the Obstacle Course, and now he broke into the Incredible House to spy on them. I hope that there’s a break (at least a month) before the next major event because this was too time consuming.

  31. I discovered a flaw in defeating the omnidroid that allowed me to complete the task, almost instantly without using gems. After I assigned the five characters to battle the omnidroid, I clicked the social button to check on other players. When I returned to my own game the tasks were complete — no four hour wait, so I tried it again, and it worked again. Battle was complete in under 3 minutes. Not sure Gameloft will even bother to fix it considering the event is over in two days.

      • Oh I wish I had known this earlier to save time on the battle and started welcoming Syndrome much sooner! I’m sure your post will help other players! 🙂

      • I defeated the Omnidroid then rebuilt one. Is it normal that the original one (defeated) is still there? Will it go away in a few hours? I hope so because otherwise two of them would look silly.

    • JOHN P, Thanks for sharing this glitch. Too late for me, but hopefully will help other who are a bit behind. We need all the help we can get…very much appreciated. There’s a great, supportive community emerging here. Thanks Jaysen for the initiative….💜X

  32. i think i’m going to uninstall this game, although i thought its cute and fun i wasted about 300 diamonds trying to finish the quests faster to get the arm bands for syndrome since i have only 2 days left and i have 1/20 and after wasting 300 diamonds i still got 1/20 which is rediculous you would figure i would get even 1 LMAO so what kind of stupid event is this if you can’t even have a chance to get all the characters, its hopeless and all that work for nothing since after the event we can’t get him even if we have some of the items required.

  33. I would suggest to anyone still trying to welcome Syndrome that they persist with grinding out the items. Whilst the drop rates are atrocious I still think the best strategy is to get as many items as possible and make up the shortfall at the end with the requisite Diamonds. Poor RAVEN wasted 300 diamonds speeding up the tasks and did not progress any. I kept my eye on the Diamond speed up tally and it drops to 300 pretty quickly. RAVEN could have continued to grind then spent the 300 or less to welcome Syndrome rather than squander them by speeding up (the odds/drop rates are not improved by doing this). I’m still grinding & progressing at a snail’s pace but I am now into a reasonable Diamond speed up zone. I’d rather not use them but I do so love the character & deem it worth it to have him in my game. Good luck to everyone still grinding away. I hope we all get lucky with just over a day to go😅😅😅😅…..💜X

  34. 3 and a half days of grinding full time. No gems and I finally got to welcome syndrome.

Gems to get last 2 items was 38 if that helps with planning.

I kept running maximum parades and I think that improved drop rate.

    Good luck!

  35. Fyi. When I first unlocked syndrome and didn’t have tokens it asked for 781 gems to welcome him immediately. I think I had almost enough currency and orange/black discs.

  36. I figured out the diamond cost to welcome Syndrome:
    200 coins – 1 diamond
    1 token – 4 diamonds
    1 arm band – 17 diamonds
    1 hat – 17 diamonds

    • Awesome! If I can find a way, do you mind if I add to the post? I’m on limited internet at the moment as I’m on vacation

      • Sure, knock yourself out. Copy it if you like.
I forgot to mention that there seem to be a 4 diamond adder just for using speed up.

    • Corrected diamond cost to welcome Syndrome:
      200 coins – 1 diamond
      1 token – 5 diamonds
      1 arm band – 17 diamonds
      1 hat – 17 diamonds
Complete instantly price is 4 diamonds on top

Thanks to Christian for pointing out my mistake for the tokens.

  37. People should note that the Customer Care FAQ page in game says: “If you miss out on the event keep checking back, as the Incredibles may return at a later date…”

  38. Players should note that the Customer Care FAQ in game mentions: “If you miss out on the event keep checking back, as the Incredibles may return at a later date…”

  39. Does anyone know what is going to happen at the end of the event if you can’t get Syndrome? I have 8 more hats to get and based on math and my inability to check the game while I am at work and sleeping, I might not make it. Do the characters just dissappear or do you then have to use magic instead of incredicoins?

  40. I am getting a little worried that we wont be able to level them up afterwards are you sure we will be able to? Will we have to use magic instead of incredicoins

  41. Why it says I have 4 days 5hrs left as of now while I read some comments as only 1 day left for the event. Is it area specific ?

Also I need 10more hats. I hope I can get them in time.

  42. If you didn’t buy the Omnidroid City before welcome Syndrome, do you know how much it would have cost in the post Syndrome welcoming mission? It was 25,000 incredible coins before welcoming him. I’m curious if the price went down for the mission.

    • I don’t think that the price will change whenever you buy the City. But do it soon since the event is almost over. And if it’s a choice between getting the City or Syndrome, I would suggest the City.

  43. I have luckily already gotten Syndrome. I just noticed in his first mission it’s to build the city. You’re right, you’d be crazy not to build that damn city first to help with those ridiculous epic items. Was just curious if the price changed, but I doubt anyone actually skipped building the city and still ended up getting Syndrome. Just curiosity but I appreciate the response!

  44. is there something to do after you defeat & welcome Syndrome? i’ve gotten as far as the quest where he says something about everyone there having the potential to be a super.. i’ve leveled up mrs incredible to 8, dash to 7, violet to 6, mr. incredible to 6, frozen to 3 and syndrome to 2

  45. I’m down to needing one more hat, and I think I have three chance of a hat brewing to finish before the events end, so I’m hoping to not needing to spend diamonds.
Only diamond I spend on this event was getting my Frozone, and that’s for freely earned diamonds I had at the time.

  46. The Incredibles event is finished and I welcomed all the characters, including Syndrome, and one of my new active quests is to build the Omnidroid City. My problem is that when I go to the attractions tab (whether through tapping “Go” under the quest or going to the attractions tab) it says “Coming Soon” and I cannot select it. I have been given and completed new Syndrome quests after the event has been over and now my next quest is “Send Syndrome to fight Mr. Incredible” and I cannot complete that without the Omnidroid City. Do you know if this is a game glitch or if I need to do something for the city to become available? It will be very annoying to have two uncompleteable quests indefinitely.

    • Yeah. I think you may have to wait until they make the Incredibles stuff available again 😦

  47. First of all great reviews and extremely helpful!

My problem now is that the event is over and I didn’t have time to welcome syndrome yet. When get to the character in the menu it tells me that I need to defeat the imnidroud first, which I already did! So what should I do?
