Longtails - The Book Series

Barrel-Fist – Character Profile #5

Hello all and welcome back to another Longtails update!  Today is going to be short and sweet as I will be spending most of the day editing.  It is hard to believe that we are less than three months away from the release of the book now, but we are and I am dealing with all sorts of excitement and anxiety because of that fact.

Process Update

My husband and editor, Carl Li, and I have been deep in editing territory these past couple of months as we work to put finishing touches on the book!  I am also sending off the final plan for the cover to our amazing artist, Dexter Allagahrei, today.  The last couple of months before a book release are always the craziest, most stressful, most fulfilling part of the process.  There’s something magical about seeing the jumbled, messy first draft become something worth sharing with the world.  All of that being said, I thought I’d share a picture of one of our villains today!  As such, there won’t be a whole lot of details on him.  Let’s face it, villains are better left with an air of mystery!

Who is Barrel-Fist

Art by Dexter Allagahrei

Very little is known about Barrel-Fist.  Minks are often born with a more normal name, but then given a new one when they take their place among the horde.  They are named after the most threatening thing about them.  Knife-Edge.  Razor-Thorn.  Scraggle-Tooth.  Barrel-Fist was named for the Minigun which was attached to his arm after his original forearm and paw were lost.  No one knows how he lost the arm.  No one dares to ask.  Barrel-Fist is a force to be reckoned with and his team of minks don’t dare question his methods.

Coming Soon

Updates should become more regular now.  With the holidays and a crazy January, complete with my 30th birthday, behind me, I’ll have more time to create these character snapshots and Lore Updates.  I can’t wait to share more Lore with you all, especially since the final edit and rewrite has seen some big overhauls to the class and magic system.  I am very excited about this!  All the love and hope to see you next week for more Longtails goodness.
