Hello everyone! Today we have a short and sweet post with some new fanart! Hooray for artists! December is flying by. I’ve just received my first round of edits from my editor, which means it’s time for me to get back to work! I’ve also started working on the second Short Tale from the Longtails, which I’m hoping will hit this very site sometime in January. It seems so crazy that in just four very short months, this book will finally be in your paws and ready to read! Anyway, you came to see some art so lets’ jump in!
This week is all about Arthur DeGandia, resident Scarlet. He’s such a smarmy fellow as we learned when he was revealed a couple weeks ago. First up we have a piece sent in by Kali Drainville. Kali offered to give Arthur a go since she’s been practicing her artwork lately. And though she was nervous, I have to say that I LOVE this piece. It has this really awesome painted look to it and there’s something about seeing Arthur sipping a fine wine and eating cheese that really captures his personality! Well done Kali!
Next up is a headshot done by Madison Gilbert, who can be found at MoonsplashDrawz. This piece is so friggin’ cute. I love that his hat is slipping off his head and the red eye really makes him look devious in this one. Well done Madison!
Our last piece of Fanart this week comes from the talented Maja Klonowska who can be found at MayaWolf on Fur Affinity. This picture is really cool to me, for reasons that have nothing to do with the artwork itself. One of my favorite things about working on a new book is that it somehow manages to force me to meet all kinds of new people. Longtails has had the great effect of introducing me to the Furry community. And while not a Furry myself, I have to say that this community has been nothing but welcoming and wonderful so far! That’s what this piece really represents to me because it is certainly done in a very Furry style. Besides all that, Arthur loves him some rest and relaxation. He’s more of the hardly working type than the working hard type. Thank you Maja!!!
That’s all for this week! If you are interested in creating some artwork for Longtails, please message me here on wordpress or on Facebook or Twitter! Now, it’s time to get to work on edits and Christmas shopping. Not necessarily in that order…
