If you’re a member of any of the DMK Facebook pages or you follow me on social media, you’ll know that after some pretty harsh statements from a reader here, I decided to take a break from blogging about the game. That being said, I have continued to play and enjoy DMK from afar. However, if the past two months has taught me anything, it’s that I miss the ever-loving snot out of all of you! So while I may not update at the same speed as I used to, I’m hoping to ease back in with the Bear Necessities. See what I did there? So are you ready to talk about this crazy new update ahead of us?! I know I am! Let’s jump in!
First and foremost, I think the most important part of this livestream is the fact that these three now have a fancy new jungle themed background to chat in front of. This is a big upgrade from sitting on the couch of days gone by. Now please do a space themed update so you can be hurtling through the stars for the extent of the livestream. PLEASE!
Not An Event!
I’m putting this one in a category of its own because I know this is the biggest question on everyone’s mind. This update is NOT an event and you will be able to get these characters forever so there is no rush! Got it? Good. Let’s move on.
New Characters
We’ve got three new characters this time around and as expected they are all Jungle Book themed. It seems Mowgli and Bagheera are finally going to get to level up past 2 and meet with their friends! As a side note, Mowgli and Bagheera will be able to level up to 10 once this update launches.
We’ll also be adding Baloo, King Louie and Shere Kahn to the mix. The devs also hinted at a boss battle that may possibly open a portal in the near future so get ready to do some tiger slapping!
These characters will of course come with their own set of required tokens and fun intro sequences.
New Attractions
We’re getting not one, but three new attractions this time around and the Jungle Book will finally have a place in our park. No more wandering around like confused mother’s at a Pokemon Trading Card Tournament for Mowgli and his friends! The three as seen below are Kaa’s Jungle Gym, the Jungle River Drift and Baloo’s Oasis. There will also be new concessions for the season such as a Pumpkin Pie stand and an Octoberfest stand. Mmm, Pumpkin Pie.
PS: Can I get an update where these three are just always providing commentary at the bottom of my screen?
New Landmark and Expansion
Broken records rejoice! We are getting new land AND a new landmark. That’s right, Big Thunder Mountain is opening up and we’re getting some new land where you can build that Jungle Book village you always wanted! The new land will be just North of Big Thunder Mountain.
New Parade Float
I was just yesterday thinking how sad it was that the Jungle Book had no float! Well now, just like those kids in Stephen King’s ‘IT’ the Jungle Book will float too! No? Bad joke? Too soon? Oh well. This float features Baloo himself. Now the real hope is that it drops Bagheera tokens. A guy can hope, right?
New Rarity Markers for Chests
This one is more about quality of life. Chests will now show rewards based on a tiered system in order to show you just how rare an item is. It’s okay guys. I don’t need this system to know that the rarity of the Race Track is “NEVER DROPS FOR YOU EVER!!!” Is that a 19 or a 20 star rarity? I forget. At any rate, this one will really be great for anyone who is color blind and it certainly helps to simplify things.
Final Thoughts
I for one am happy to have a break from Eventing. Though I do hope we get some kind of Halloween or Christmas event as these were big highlights next year. I’m excited to have another landmark to build and every land opened puts us one step closer to opening up Adventure Land up top! So what do you guys think of the update? Glad to see you back, I was lost the last 2 events without you, but I somehow managed to squeek by. My mother on the other hand had a lot more trouble with the events. She’ll be happy to hear the news!
Looks good however I’m a little confused about the tokens what if multiple characters have same token? Will it show up more than once otherwise it wont show until you collected all characters tokens and they are ready to level up?

I finally have enough gems to buy attractions but no land to put them on and I have a feeling from watching the live stream the new land will not be big enough. I am new to your blog and saddens me that someone could be so rude. People should learn they doin’t have to read everything and if you do read it keep your mouth shut. There is enough negativity in the world without adding more to it. Thank you for update. I would not have known about it if you had not blogged about it. For that I am grateful. It looks like they are dropping the welcome and level 2 requirements for Mowgli and Bagheera. I certainly wouldn’t complain if they rewarded those of us who already have both of them at level 2 with some extra tokens/hats or even upgrade them to level 3 automatically.
I agree. I finally got Bagheera at Level 2 yesterday after weeks and weeks of trying. It was by far the hardest character to get. Hopefully the Jungle Book characters will ease up on the epic difficulty.
