Disney Magical World 2 Trailer Breakdown

Disney Magical World 2 is shaping up to be incredible.  The first was a super fun Life Sim game, but as I play through the original, I keep imagining things I wish were in the game.  That being said, the latest trailer for Magical World 2 which releases October 14, seems to show off a lot of the things I’ve been hoping for.  Today we’ll be looking closely at some of the new additions in my attempt to make you understand that if you are a 3DS owner and you like Disney, you probably need this game, like, yesterday.  First off, though, let’s take a look at the trailer.

Right off the bat, I will say that DMW2 looks to be significantly more colorful than the first.  The colors seem to pop off the screen and on a whole, there is a lot more to see in ever screen than you would find in the original.  The town itself seems to much more closely resemble Disney World’s Main Street this time around as well.

In a lot of ways, it feels as though you are actually taking a trip to Disney World in order to see your favorite characters.  I’m super happy to see that the original Disney family is still present despite all the additions of new characters.

We get to see a lot of snapshots that fly by quickly with all sorts of new world and characters.  These alone make the game seem WAY bigger than the original.  You’ll see below that we’re going to be hanging out, and most likely in the world of, Frozen, Peter Pan, Lilo & Stitch, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Alice in Wonderland and Snow White.  Just in these screens alone it would seem that we have double the worlds that we had in the first game if you don’t consider the Pirates DLC.

It seems that Cinderella dancing may have been replaced by Lilo & Stitch Luau dancing.  That being said, it looks like there will be several different areas where you can dance and perform and the actual mechanics of the dancing look to be far more interesting and legit than in the first.

And what’s this?  A surging Mini-game?  Yes please!  Lilo & Stitch is looking to be my favorite world already!

Oh and then we get to get massages?  I’m not really sure how this will be part of the game but oh man, I hope that I can get a sticker for getting a massage.  Achievement unlocked!

Everyone loves The Little Mermaid…well…except me.  But if you’re not me, you’ll be swimming with Ariel and friends and that will surely be fun.  Later on we see a picture of flying with Peter Pan, and I have to wonder if the mechanics of these two mini-games will be very similar to each other as well as to the surfing game.

It seems we will be making lots of food and costumes as well.  The costumes look adorable and OMG, I spot an Olaf Hot Cocoa there!  How adorable!  You’ll also be able to dress up like classic characters which is always fun.  And so help me, I will have that Hook outfit!

There’s a quick flash to everyone’s favorite racer, which makes me hope so much that Wreck-It Ralph will also be a world where we can race.  That would be AMAZING!

I often compare this game to one of my favorite games, Animal Crossing and the photo below proves that further.  It seems that your house and the cafe might be two separate buildings?  Not too sure, but I like the idea of it because it means that I will have two things to upgrade as opposed to a room in the cafe that seems hastily thrown in like in the first game.

screenshot-335

Admit it, you’re excited to go to Arendelle.  It’s okay.  I won’t judge you.  I will say that it looks gorgeous and I’m sure that walking through the recreation of the town will be tons of fun!

screenshot-336

It looks like you will really be able to do a lot more with your house, bringing this game up to speed with Animal Crossing.  I’m glad that there is an added focus here because designing the room of your dreams and having the tools to do it is always fun in these sort of games.

screenshot-339

But oh the cafe.  Wow, it seems to have received an upgrade.  You can really see the party being had on the table and the themes just look fantastic.  Plus, if you look in the background, you’ll see performances.  All in all, this will really be like going to the parks and going to one of the restaurants with a show.  Truth time, seeing this upgrade to the cafe was the most exciting part of the trailer for me!

screenshot-340

Wow, I would definitely go to a Frozen themed cafe.  The artwork here is fantastic!

screenshot-341

And wow, just look at that Little Mermaid theme!

screenshot-342

Here we see more dancing, but I’m curious.  Is it possible that doing these dances will actually be how you choreograph the dances for your cafe?  That would certainly make your cafe feel even more like work that you’ve put into it.  I really hope that turns out to be the case.  I’d also just be more inclined to do the dancing mini-games if I knew it had an effect on how well my cafe performed.  After all, good performances could mean more income and I’ll need money to buy all those outfits and things for my room!

screenshot-344

Here we see the Peter Pan images I mentioned before.  Flying with him will surely be a HIGH point of the game.  Get it?  Huh?  Okay moving on.

screenshot-346

You’ll also be releasing lanterns with Rapunzel and Flynn.

screenshot-347

The game looks awesome and I seriously can’t wait to start my adventure in it.  Two things that are sorely missing from this trailer that I hope are still around are the questing and the farming.  I would be shocked if either of these things is gone as they make up a bulk of the first.  The questing really helps to add a story and some action.  However, without the farming I would be lost.  I love farming in the first and really hope to see it again in this one, only bigger and better!

So what do you guys think?  Will you be picking this one up?  Let me know in the comments!
