Dear Disney, I’d like to kindly offer you my wallet. Go ahead, take it. Take all the money. Take my insurance card. Just take all of it. Oh man, this trailer is so exciting. I know we all love the original but I am just really feeling the look of the new Elliot. I also have a soft spot for a lot of the actors in this film. I adore the thought that this feels a little bit like The Jungle Book meets How to Train Your Dragon. It’s all just so epic and heartwarming. I also love that the only sort of nod to the original is the cop yelling “Dragon!!!” It feels like it’s own thing, an original entity. Really fantastic. I’m not a fan of the original and this film isn’t really selling itself to me, tbh. I actually feel this would have made a good horror film, lol!
I grew up in the original, and it’s one of my absolute favorite Classic Disney films. I was REALLY skeptical when I heard about this, but this trailer has me thinking it just might not ruin my childhood after all.
