Can I just say that I am loving the hype machine that Gameloft is building around this update? I’m actually being serious here. No! I am not being sarcastic! YOU ARE! But seriously, when Update 1 happened, we got this quick “Look who’s coming to the game!” photo with the silhouette of Aurora. Then, mere hours later, the update was released. There was no time to process or even get excited. It was just here! With this update, we had the community support piece for The Incredibles and now we are finding out even more news, so here’s what we know so far!
At this point, I think we all know that The Incedibles are coming to the game, which is pretty exciting.
The above photo shows the family, BUT we also know that Frozone will also be in the roster. At this point, it’s become second nature to have the “Group 1” and “Group 2” characters of each franchise, but that leaves us to speculate who will be in Group 2? With Frozone being for sure, I think we can also safely assume that Syndrome will be there. He’s pretty obviously the big baddie for this next update and I’ll put money on befriending and forgiving him after we beat him. We do a LOT of forgiving in this game.
I also have to wonder if there will be one more character in that Group 2 lineup. Perhaps Edna will make an appearance? I think it’s safe to say that if Roz from Monsters Inc. can be recruited, a far more memorable Edna should also be someone I can send to do to tasks in my Kingdom. Who will make all the clothes for Mr. Incredible if she’s not there?
This one comes to us as very new news with the first building from Aladdin being announced only a few hour ago.
That being said, are we really to believe that we will get Aladdin buildings with NO Aladdin characters? I think not. My guess is that we’ll have Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie and Jafar along with possibly Rajah, Iago and Abu. Any or all of those latter three will most likely cost gems. I can just feel it. There’s also the off chance that we’ll be given only a few of these characters with the others reading “Coming Soon” which has become a favorite combination of words for the developers.
As part of the Community Support project for this update, we were also given a sneak peak of not one or two but several new buildings coming to the game. Keep in mind that these were ALL Incredibles based.
Get ready to give up your Burger Farm. Update 2 is all about the Sno-Cone farm!
Live in style with The Incredibles Home, sure to have a 24 hour quest involving picking up that car and watching the expressions on that kid’s face. The quest will most definitely be called “Totally Wicked.”
Here we have a lovely ride. Now your guests can run from evil Super Killing robots in style!
I am loving the design of this ride and I am very excited to see it in action, especially since it appears to have quite a bit of movement to it.
And of course, no park is complete without this volcano in the shape of Syndrome’s hair! But seriously, you know you want it in your park.
New Areas to UnCurse
One photo in particular had me saying ‘Hmm?”
You’ll notice that this is South of California Screamin’ and it is devoid of curse. Looks like we’ll be opening up the rest of this land very VERY soon, which is great because if you’re anything like my mother, you are sorely lacking for room in your park right now, and these new buildings look to be enormous.
This is a little one but in one of the photos, you can see little robots running around haphazardly in the center of the park. My bet is on a new event that has us rounding them up, similar to the ravens and brooms. Now, if you’ve been reading this blog, you’ll know I’m not a huge fan of those events, so here’s hoping that they add a little something to spruce things up. Maybe I’m finally getting my Mini-game? Only time will tell.
New Park Customization
Okay, this is one that I am really really interested in. From the photo below, it appears that the big air balloon has been replaced by something not so air-balloony.
Okay, so this has me wondering. Can you just building buildings in that spot now? Or will the update just place it there? Or perhaps will this be some sort of trophy you can earn for something? Or here’s a thought. Much like the castle, will we be able to actually journey inside thousand do something special? Mini-Game? Sorry guys, I really want a mini-game. A little part of me thinks the most plausible is that this will just be cosmetic and will replace the balloon, but the other parts of me hopes there’s more to it.
This Friday at 3PM EDT, Gameloft will be having a livestream about the update, which I’ll be sure to check out and report back on. Until then, what of these changes and additions are you most excited for? Any surprises we haven’t seen yet that you hope we get? Let me know in the comments!
